Packed Bed Scrubber Tower

Overview
A packed bed scrubber brings a contaminated gas stream into contact with a circulating liquid. The packing provides a contact surface on which suitable soluble compounds can transfer from the gas into the wash solution.
System arrangement
The Verdora layout combines a packed contact zone, spray distribution, recirculation tank and mist eliminator. Operating checks cover liquid flow, pressure drop and solution condition. Dosing and blowdown are selected to suit the treatment chemistry.
Typical applications
Scrubber towers can be considered for compatible acid or alkaline exhaust streams from chemical handling, surface finishing and process ventilation. Materials of construction must be checked against both the gas and the circulating liquid.
Planning and service
Project planning should consider reagent storage, access for packing inspection and treatment of the collected liquid. The final duty, safety measures and discharge requirements depend on site conditions and must be verified during engineering.
